Home adventures: straw bale garden update

Just a few weeks ago, my straw bale garden was just a bunch of straw bales. After conditioning them, putting down a little potting soil, arranging the soaker hose, and putting in some seeds, it looked like this:

We've got one tomato plant and some strawberry plants in there too, just to start us off.

Now, we're starting to see sprouts!!!

That's chard!!

And zucchini! (Like my labels?)

And this itty bitty little guy will eventually be heirloom tomatoes!

But today, Tim brought me this:

Our first THING from the garden!! A tiny, perfect strawberry. (Squee!) And it was delicious!

We'll see what happens next on this grand adventure!
